Dome Light PSA

I know a lot of you already know about the replacement dome lights, but as a PSA for those who don't, you can get yourself a brand spanking new dome light from Toyota (or eBay). You just won't find it under the mk2 EPC, I chose mine from a 1987 Camry but there's several vehicles that used this. PN pictured. I am unaware if they come in any other colors. Plug and play, fade out works the same as original.

Fuel Leak

The fun never ends with 35+ year old cars. Sprung a leak from the fuel pressure damper. $116 later, I got a new one from Toyota themselves.

Radio EQ Wiring Fun Times

Slowly but surely making progress on wiring the JDM AE101 Corolla Equalizer to the USDM Corolla head unit. Got 2, maybe 3 wires mismatched (illumination and stuff), so it turns on and is confirmed to work but need to fine tune the wiring to work as intended. This is my boyfriend's project mainly, as I am not a wiring person lol.

More Cleaning & Prep

Now is the best time to get everything taken care of that is difficult to reach when the intake manifold is installed. Hoses, fuel filter, etc.

5MGE Head Install

Cylinder block prep consists of plugging as much as possible to prevent debris falling into block. And scraping and cleaning the gasket mating surface with various tools like razors, plastic scrapers, etc. I try not to use power tools or anything that could possibly warp the edge of the cylinder bore, creating more issues. It's very tedious but it works. Then I vacuumed out any debris that fell into the cylinders.

Cylinder Head Prep

I always bag and tag important bolts and pieces, like what is used on the head. I number each baggie with the rockers and lash adjusters for camshaft side (exhaust or intake) and cylinder number to keep the cam lobes from wearing unevenly. And then I coat the hell out of the metal cam tower gaskets with copper spray to prevent oil seepage.
